These Affiliate Program Terms and Conditions ("Affiliate Terms") govern your participation in The Cosmic Brief Affiliate Program operated by Soulful Existence, LLC ("we," "our," or "us"). By applying to or participating in the program, you ("Affiliate") agree to these Affiliate Terms in full.
These Affiliate Terms are in addition to, and incorporate by reference, The Cosmic Brief's general Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. In the event of a conflict, these Affiliate Terms govern with respect to the affiliate relationship.
The Cosmic Brief Affiliate Program allows approved content creators, publishers, and individuals ("Affiliates") to earn commission by referring new paying subscribers to The Cosmic Brief app at thecosmicbrief.app.
Participation in the program is by application only. Approval is at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to decline any application or revoke any affiliate's participation at any time for any reason.
Commission rate: Affiliates earn 30% commission on qualifying subscription payments made by referred subscribers.
Qualifying conversions: A conversion qualifies when a referred user clicks your unique affiliate link (or redeems your assigned coupon code), creates a new account, and completes a paid subscription purchase (Seeker or Mystic plan) within the cookie window. Conversions are tracked and verified through our affiliate platform, PromoteKit, via its two-way Stripe integration.
Cookie window: 60 days from the date of the referred user's first click on your affiliate link. Cookie-based tracking is used; we cannot guarantee attribution if a referred user's browser blocks or clears cookies before completing their purchase.
Recurring commissions: The 30% commission is earned on every recurring subscription payment made by the referred subscriber — monthly or annual — for the lifetime of that subscriber's active paid subscription. Commission accrues on each renewal payment automatically through PromoteKit's Stripe integration as long as the subscriber remains active and paying.
Coupon codes: Where we assign you a unique coupon code in addition to or instead of an affiliate link, conversions tracked via that coupon code are subject to the same commission terms above. Coupon codes are auto-generated through PromoteKit and are assigned to your account only — sharing or distributing a coupon code outside your own promotional channels is prohibited.
Free tier sign-ups: Sign-ups that do not result in a paid subscription payment do not earn commission. Free trials that subsequently convert to a paid plan earn commission on the first qualifying payment following conversion.
Annual plans: Commission on annual plan purchases is calculated on the full annual payment amount at the time of purchase.
Refunds and cancellations: If a referred subscriber receives a refund or initiates a chargeback, any commission paid or pending on that transaction will be reversed or withheld. PromoteKit's Stripe integration tracks refunds and cancellations in real time and adjusts commission balances accordingly.
Payout threshold: Commissions are paid once your balance reaches a minimum of $25. Balances below this threshold roll over to the following period.
Payment schedule: Qualifying commissions are paid on a NET-15 basis — payouts are issued on or around the 15th of each month for the prior month's confirmed, cleared commissions.
Holding period: Commissions are held for 15 days after the referred subscriber's payment to account for refunds or chargebacks. Commission is not paid until this holding period has elapsed and the underlying subscription has not been refunded or cancelled.
Payment method: Payouts are processed via PayPal, as supported by PromoteKit. You are responsible for connecting a valid PayPal account to your affiliate portal and for keeping that information current. We are not responsible for failed or misdirected payments resulting from incorrect account information you have provided. PromoteKit does not charge transaction fees on payouts.
Affiliate portal: Your commission balance, referral activity, payout history, and affiliate link are all accessible through your dedicated PromoteKit affiliate portal. It is your responsibility to monitor your portal for payout status and any notices from us.
Taxes: You are solely responsible for any taxes applicable to commissions you earn. If required by applicable law, we will request a completed tax form (such as a W-9 for U.S.-based affiliates) before issuing payment. We reserve the right to withhold payment until required tax documentation is received.
Currency: All commissions are paid in U.S. dollars.
Upon approval, you will be onboarded to The Cosmic Brief's affiliate portal powered by PromoteKit, where you will receive your unique affiliate link and, if applicable, an auto-generated coupon code. These are the mechanisms by which your referrals are tracked and attributed to your account via PromoteKit's Stripe integration.
Tracking is cookie-based via a lightweight JavaScript snippet on our site. You acknowledge that attribution may not be captured if a referred user's browser blocks third-party cookies, uses a private browsing mode that clears cookies, or purchases on a different device from the one on which the link was originally clicked. We are not responsible for untracked conversions resulting from these or similar technical limitations.
You are responsible for ensuring your affiliate link or coupon code is used correctly in all promotional materials. We are not responsible for missed commissions resulting from broken links, failure to use your assigned tracking mechanism, or technical issues on your end.
You may not modify, obscure, cloak, or redirect your affiliate link in ways that interfere with accurate tracking. Cookie-stuffing, forced clicks, iFrame embedding, or any other method of generating fraudulent clicks or conversions is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate termination and forfeiture of all pending commissions. PromoteKit's built-in self-referral fraud detection is active on all accounts.
As an Affiliate, you agree to promote The Cosmic Brief honestly, accurately, and in a manner consistent with our brand. Specifically:
We reserve the right to request removal of any content we determine violates these guidelines. Failure to comply within a reasonable timeframe may result in termination of your affiliate status.
You are required to clearly and conspicuously disclose your affiliate relationship with The Cosmic Brief in all promotional content where your Affiliate Link appears. This is required by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and similar regulations in other jurisdictions.
Acceptable disclosures include, but are not limited to: "#ad," "#sponsored," "#affiliate," or a clear written statement such as "This post contains an affiliate link — I earn a commission if you subscribe." Disclosures must appear before the Affiliate Link, not buried in captions or footnotes where they may be overlooked.
You are solely responsible for ensuring your promotional content complies with all applicable laws, platform rules, and advertising guidelines in your jurisdiction. We are not liable for your failure to disclose.
In addition to the restrictions above, the following are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate termination and forfeiture of all commissions. Note that PromoteKit's platform includes automated self-referral fraud detection — flagged activity is reviewed and may result in commission reversal independent of manual review.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use The Cosmic Brief's approved brand assets — including the name "The Cosmic Brief," approved logos, and approved screenshots — solely for the purpose of promoting The Cosmic Brief under this program.
You may not alter, distort, or create derivative versions of our brand assets. You may not use our brand assets in a way that implies a partnership, sponsorship, or employment relationship beyond the affiliate program. All goodwill associated with use of our brand assets belongs exclusively to Soulful Existence, LLC.
This license terminates automatically upon the termination of your affiliate participation for any reason.
You are an independent contractor. Nothing in these Affiliate Terms creates an employment, partnership, joint venture, agency, or franchise relationship between you and Soulful Existence, LLC. You have no authority to bind us to any agreement, obligation, or representation.
You are solely responsible for all costs and expenses associated with your promotional activities, including any platform fees, advertising costs, or equipment.
We reserve the right to modify these Affiliate Terms, commission rates, cookie windows, payment thresholds, or any other aspect of the program at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by email to the address on your affiliate account, or by posting updated terms on this page, with at least 14 days advance notice where practicable.
Your continued participation in the program after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree to the updated terms, you may terminate your participation by notifying us in writing.
Commission rates in effect at the time a qualifying conversion occurs will apply to that conversion, even if rates change subsequently.
These Affiliate Terms begin on the date your application is approved and continue until terminated by either party.
Termination by you: You may terminate your participation at any time by notifying us at gen@thecosmicbrief.app. Upon termination, your Affiliate Link will be deactivated and no further commissions will accrue.
Termination by us: We may suspend or terminate your participation immediately and without notice if you breach any provision of these Affiliate Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if we determine your participation is harmful to our brand or users. We may also terminate the program entirely at any time with reasonable notice.
Effect of termination: Upon termination, any earned commissions that have cleared the holding period and met the minimum payout threshold will be paid on the next scheduled payment date. Commissions that have not cleared the holding period, or that are associated with fraudulent or prohibited activity, are forfeited. The license to use our brand assets terminates immediately.
The Cosmic Brief app and affiliate program are provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the program's continuity, the accuracy of tracking or reporting, or the amount of commissions you will earn. Participation in the program does not guarantee any specific income or results.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Soulful Existence, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your participation in the affiliate program, including lost profits or revenue. Our total liability to you under these Affiliate Terms shall not exceed the total commissions paid to you in the three months preceding the claim.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Soulful Existence, LLC and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your promotional activities, your breach of these Affiliate Terms, your violation of any applicable law or regulation, or any claim that your content infringes a third party's rights.
These Affiliate Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Affiliate Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Georgia.
Before initiating any legal proceeding, you agree to contact us at gen@thecosmicbrief.app and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the dispute informally.
These Affiliate Terms, together with The Cosmic Brief's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Soulful Existence, LLC with respect to the affiliate program and supersede all prior discussions, representations, or agreements on this subject. If any provision of these Affiliate Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
